This year, we decided to forego the annual fall festival at church to trick-or-treat with cousins and besties. Especially because said cousins and besties chose the Avengers theme for Halloween this year. I originally wanted Cutler to be a Dallas Cowboys player and Crew to be the football. But then several mentioned that Cutler would make a great Thor, what with the long blonde hair and all. So when Colt and Meah chose to be Iron Man and Black Widow, respectively, well... how could we resist?
The trick was getting Cutler to agree to be Thor, considering Thor's not really a superhero in a toddler's repertoire. But with a little prep and a really cool hammer to carry around, he was in.
Our friends' house had the perfect neighborhood for the traditional door-to-door. I'm not sure who had more fun... me or Cutler. He'd run after Meah and Colt or Tatum and Brady (our friends) saying, "Wait for me! Wait for me!" At one point, someone said, "Come on, Thor!" To which Cutler responds with, "Oh! That's me!" I found myself loving every minute of watching him love every minute.
As Cutler petered out, he'd run up the sidewalk to the front door, get his candy, run back down the sidewalk, say "Hold you, Dude" and let Dude carry him to the next house. Can you blame him? Trick-or-treating's some wearisome work.
Crew's night was a little less stellar. He was also an Avenger: Captain America. And a super cute one if you ask his biased mommy. But... he ended up getting over tired and screamed at Mimi for quite some time. Temper, temper! Perhaps it's because we weren't collecting him any candy. Never fear, munchkin. Your time's coming.
My Thor |
Striking resemblance to the real Thor, no? |
My Captain America. So cute, drool and all. |
The Avengers - Next Generation |
Definitely a night for the memory books.
