I live in a land of little boys. It is a foreign land. I must learn to keep up or I'll miss all the fun. Things I'm learning:
Boys are Problem Solvers
Last night I was eating my chicken nuggets in the bathroom. Before you go thinking me strange, Cutler was taking a bath and it was either eat then or not at all. Well, said little boy asks for a bite. I give him a piece and tell him it's hot to which he responds, "I cool it, Mommy." Sweet, I thought. Self sufficient already. He asks for a second bite, I comply and he tells me again, "I cool it, Mommy." Only this time, I catch how he actually "cools" it. Yep, he dunked it in his bath water. Gross. I should pay better attention. But points for ingenuity.
Boys are Adventure Seekers
The other day, Jeremy set up our big Coleman tent in the backyard. Just for Cutler's entertainment (and his own, perhaps). Because what Daddy already understands that I'm having to learn is that adventure makes everything better. For instance, did you know that Chick-fil-a is best served in a tent?

Boys are Natural Outdoorsmen
Cutler recently spent the night with Mimi and Dude. Mimi and Dude live in Sanger with a piece of property that has everything little boys love. Like dirt. And horses. And a pond. And apparently, it doesn't matter what you wear when you go fishing.

Boys love to be the Hero
While playing around the house the other day, Cutler was tying a blanket around his neck for a cape when I remembered we had made a cape at a birthday party about a year before. I brought it out and the transformation was instantaneous. Cutler Jones was nowhere to be found. Only Batman was there to keep me company that day. "I save you, Mommy. I a super hewo."
Bet you didn't know that Batman likes to wear Thomas the Train undies |
Boys make my heart happy
I will never express enough how much fun this is. Raising brothers. I know little about boys except that I love my little boys. The cool part is, while I learn of their world, I get to have fun too.
