This post is dedicated to one subject only: Cutler's first major haircut.
As I put my little man to bed last night, I was filled with nostalgia. Don't judge. I've only known my first child with long blond locks. Pretty, slightly curly, blond locks. Sigh. So I will unashamedly admit that I was mourning the loss of his little signature look. That we've known for three years. And that we've loved for as long. But alas, we decided to take the plunge. Because he hated having his hair combed. Because it took precisely two seconds for his hair to get sweaty. Because it was always in his eyes and he refused to wear hair bands (in the style of soccer players). So the appointment was made and today is the day.
And the day has been a success. I'm also happy to report I survived.
Waiting for our turn. (Don't let my smile fool you. I had some kind of butterflies.)
And yes. It was a family affair.
He was bribed with a peppermint and the promise of a pet fish if he sat through the process with no crying.
And then.... my heart stopped a little.
I wasn't sure how he would respond to the change. But when he saw himself in the mirror, he broke out in a big smile. Which is good. Cuz my heart couldn't have taken it otherwise.
He quickly learned that a new 'do means a new attitude.
But while it may look like I walked out of that salon with a new child, he's still 100% my sweet little boy. And mighty handsome to boot.
Oh! And because he did so well, we followed through with our bribe. Meet the newest addition to our family: Rocco.
He's a very handsome fella! I'm proud of him, and you, too!!
