Class is in Session

On the forefront of my mind this new school season is this: I now have to pack two lunches two days a week. The struggle is real, you guys. And yes, I will loathe it all the more when kindergarten forces me to endure lunch preparation for 5 days straight. I can't even.

So, yes! Our two littles are both in preschool this year! I might have been a smidge weepy when I dropped off the baby for his first class. But come on! I swear I was just carting his newborn little self along while we dropped off big brother for his first class. The nostalgia slays me. Jeremy just rolls his eyes.

What kind of mom would I be if I didn't post first day pics? (But throwing in the incredibly cute signs is just asking for too much.)

Cutler the Veteran - 4 years
Crew-by the Newby - 2 years
Oh, these handsome fellas! Crew is still happy in these pictures. It wasn't until we walked in that he knew something strange was on the horizon... like leaving him there.

After the above pic, I said, "My turn!" But they had just opened the school doors and Jeremy gets all impatient with photo taking, so this is all I got.

One snap and he's over playing photographer. So good thing I had the foresight to take some selfies.

Cutler Jones. The sensitive child. The thinker. The rule follower. I would've guessed him to be shy about school. He is anything but. Even on the the first day of preschool ever, he ran right in. This day was no different.

Future class president?

Crew Jones. Rough and tumble. Charmer. Goofball. Bruiser. I would've guessed him to be the social giant. But I guessed wrong. He knew something was going on. And while he was very distracted by these trucks, he kept a close eye on mommy's and daddy's actions. And yes, he cried when we left. In fact, he called out "Mommy!" Which is so unlike his usual request for Daddy. So you know my momma-bear heartstrings were tugged tight. But I followed the rules. Best goodbye is a quick goodbye.

Turns out I had nothing to worry about. Crew OWNS the whole school thing.

So first day: Success! (But please pray for my lunch making apathy.)
