Happy Birthday Jesus

Cutler's first Christmas flew by. Just flew by! I mean, here it is Jan 9 and I'm just sitting down to blog about it. (And actually posting even later.) We did nothing overly exciting. He's only 6 months old and doesn't quite grasp it all yet. But it was perfect in my book.

We started the whole thing off at Mamaw and Grandpa's house the 23rd. He was a trooper through dinner, visits, dessert and more visits. But seeing that present time didn't happen till 9:00, he wasn't quite in the mood. I think we made it through one present before he burst right into tears. So he got his jammies and bottle and crashed in Mamaw's crib. (We noted to start earlier next year.) The next day was fun, though, when we showed him all his toys!

Starting the night off right - channeling the reindeer

Next day inventory of loot - blocks!
Weights!
My Airplane Hobby Horse!
But no gift topped the excitement received from wrapping paper.

Christmas Eve was spent at home. I actually made dinner (I do so about twice a year) and had my mom and my inlaws over. Then Mom (aka Mimi) spent the night. Christmas morning we woke up and went to church! Ended up loving spending the morning worshipping God. It was a sweet candlelight service including the sweetest rendition of Happy Birthday Jesus (sung by an 8 yr old). Great way to put the day into perspective. The rest of the day was spent opening more presents, cooking, and watching Christmas movies. (Speaking of, I watched... for the very first time ever... Christmas Vacation.)

And then, it was over. Sweet. Simple. And perfect.
