The Great Crew Day Adventures

Crew's first year. Basically, the fastest 12 months of my life. My sweet, laid back, food loving, smile giving little boy has turned one. We have chronicled his first birthday party in a previous post. But we had so much fun on his actual birthday, I have to regale the tale.

It started off like any other morning. Reveille sounded at 6:30 a.m. (Which basically means the monitor lit up with sounds from both of the boys rooms.) But it was not just any ordinary day. It was Crew Bean's birthday. And adventure was on the agenda.

At 0900 hours, Crew began his first nap. After a morning of waffle eating and playing in the dog's water bowl. And climbing on the treadmill. And racing mom to the toilet. (She always forgets to close that door.) But at 10:00 a.m., we loaded the car and headed to the Perot Museum. Where the adventure really started

We checked out the wildlife.

We built a campfire.

We stalked through the forest.

We explored strange tunnels.

We forged across rivers.

We went dinosaur hunting.

We waved at dinosaurs.

We glared at dinosaurs.

We excavated at an archaeological dig..

And uncovered dinosaur fossils.

And then we passed out.

But only for a smidgen! After quick naps, we were ready for round two of The Great Crew Day Adventures. We headed out to Mimi's where...

We played in the sprinkler.

And rode horses.

And drank cold beverages.

And ate ice cream.

From both ends.

And then I took two very tired little boys home.

It's a day I will cherish in my heart.
